While superficially similar to a rotary hammer, it will be vastly inferior for masonry drilling, and I would strongly advise against it. If you're thinking about buying a drill with a keyed or keyless chuck instead, you will be getting a hammer drill. If so, be advised that all rotary hammers use the same style of chuck (mostly SDS+, bigger ones have SDS Max, some Bosch ones have SDS Quick). I'm assuming that's what you bought it for. In an integrated design, the distal shock coil also serves as the anode for pacing and sensing. In a dedicated bipolar design, the anode is separate from the shock coil. All currently available ICDs are bipolar, however, based on the lead utilized, the system may be dedicated bipolar or integrated bipolar. In all pacing systems, the distal pole that is in direct contact with cardiac tissue is negative. Figure 5(b) shows the other type, a BIPOLAR system where both the anode (+) and cathode (−) are located on the same pacing lead. In a unipolar system, the pacing lead has only one electrical pole. In a unipolar system, as shown in Figure 5(a), the metal can of the pacemaker is used as the anode (+), and the distal electrode of pacemaker lead as the cathode (−). In general, there are two types of electrical circuits used in pacing systems depending on the location of the anode. Digital filters are less strict, and usually the cut‐offs used are 99, 90, 70.7, and 50% of the original amplitude levels.Īll electrical circuits must have a cathode (negative pole) and an anode (positive pole). Those frequencies that pass through are called “passband,” while frequencies that are blocked are referred to as “stopband.” The band in‐between is called the “transition band.” A very narrow transition band is called “fast roll‐off,” “The cut‐off frequency” is the frequency that separates the “passband” from the “transition band,” Analog filters use a cut‐off frequency that is decreased to 0.707 from the original amplitude. These filters allow unaltered passing of some frequencies, while other frequencies are completely blocked. Figure 2 summarizes the four most common basic frequency responses. Signal separation is needed when if the signal is contaminated by interference, noise or other signals. Filters are used for two general purposes: (1) separation of signals that have been combined and (2) restoration of signals that have been distorted in some form. ![]() ![]() ![]() The back of the camera features a fairly simplistic layout. This personally doesn’t matter to me, but I thought I would mention it. You also don’t get the dial lock mechanism that you do on the S1H. It also lets you see how much remaining battery life you have even when the camera is turned off. The large top screen on the S1H is a great feature because it lets you see all of your key settings and parameters very quickly and clearly. I did miss not having an LCD display on top of the camera like there is on the S1H. If you are in the right recording format you can simply just move the dial one spot and be shooting at higher frame rates quickly. I like that Panasonic has added a dedicated S&Q dial. There are dedicated WB, ISO, and Record buttons just like on the S1H. The control layout of the S5 is pretty good. The S5 feels every bit as well made as the S1H. Sealing materials have been used around all of the buttons and dials. The S5 is made out of a magnesium alloy body and it has been designed with dust and splash resistance in mind. As soon as you start making something smaller there are inevitably compromises that have to be made, unfortunately getting rid of a full-sized HDMI port is one of those compromises. After using the S1H it is certainly a much lighter and smaller camera. I was actually surprised when I first saw the S5. The S1 tips the scales at 1.02 kg / 2.25 lb (Body with Battery and Memory). The S1H weighs in at 1.16 kg / 2.56 lb (Body with Battery and Memory. For reference, the GH5 weighs in at 725g (1.6 lb). That actually makes it smaller and lighter than the GH5. What people didn’t particularly like was: What they found is people liked the following: Panasonic has been doing a lot of market research into what people liked and didn’t like about the S series. In some regards, the S5 is probably the camera the S1 should have been. The S1H has been a big success for Panasonic, but the S1 didn’t catch on and it hasn’t enjoyed the same success as its bigger brother. Panasonic told me that the GH line isn’t being discontinued or phased out. To be absolutely crystal clear, the S5 isn’t a GH5 replacement, it is simply a new camera. In a lot of ways the S5 is a full-frame version of the GH5, hence the name S5. Read as many different reviews as you can and try and get hold of a camera yourself to see if it works for you. I don't know whether this requirement is still in the current OSHA standards, it once was as a carryover from the ANSI standard. In the US qualification by any recognized standard, of the welder wasn't the primary emphasis, it was complying with a procedure approved and sanctioned by the manufacturer. One big problem I encountered was since they were welded in the manufacturing process it is OK to make additional welds. I concur with IceStationZebra but would raise the percentage to 99%. RE: Welding of Forklift forks IceStationZebra (Mechanical) 18 Aug 10 22:51 I've never done this, but the company that I do work for heats and straightens bent forks, and have never had a problem. I've replaced the tube type hangers on forks that were 4" thick, used 1/4" diameter E7018 electrodes, and positioning the fork in the flat position, makes for a long day. I don't recommend everyone repair forks, it's not a simple task removing worn hangers, they don't come off easy, you have to be careful not to cut into the fork. Every fork that I have seen has been welded at one time or another, and most of the broken ones are from worn heels or misuse, which is also a common problem. The forks with rings or tubes should be replaced with the same material and size as when they were manufactured. Some forks need blocks welded to them for attaching hydraulic cylinders, or leadscrews for positioners. Some forks require a middle hanger added when used on a rotator. The proper replacement hanger should be used,as well as proper workmanship practices and properly stored or reconditioned electrodes (E7018). ITA (Industrial Truck Association) has 4 classes of fork hangers or clips, class 1 for 13" high carriage, class 11 for 16" ,class 111 for 20" and class 1V fo 25". D1.1 is for structural steel, forks are probably covered under D14.3, D14.4 or D14.6, some type of machinery and equipment. I've welded plenty of forks in the past 30+ years, as an AWS certified to D1.1 all positions, all thickness. I've seen more fork failures from this commonly overlooked problem, than from welded hangers or clips. Forklift mechanics have a gauge to check this wear. Some forks are never checked for heel wear, from the constant dragging on metal loading docks and cement floors. I wanted to add another caution to this discussion. RE: Welding of Forklift forks tygerdawg (Mechanical) 12 Aug 10 11:49 In the USA OSHA frowns on any failure of any lifting device where someone is injured. When we did weld on the attachment points of the forks we required a proof test of the repair. The forks were essentially considered an expendable item. One reason for doing this was the forks were made from different materials, from 4140 on down. We never changed the attachment design as this would require factory approval and testing. When it came to the forks we only allowed welding to attachment points using an approved procedure. We had a fleet of over one hundred forklifts at one time so we were able to be a licensed repair station for the majority brand of forklift. I don't have the current regulations on forklifts but under the older rules one was not allowed to weld on any part of the lifting components unless you were a factory authorized repair depot and you needed to use manufacturer's approved welding procedures. The characters on “Seinfeld” really love to layer, which is another reason to size up. To achieve the baggy look, you may want to size up when getting blazers or button-ups (especially if you, like me, have a large chest). Over the years, Julia Louis-Dreyfus has talked about the process of creating her Seinfeld character, spotlighting the differences between her real-life personality and that of Elaine Benes. You see them coming from the gym, going to a party and midway through a bad road trip, looking realistic at every turn. With different accessories and styling, the characters of “Seinfeld” developed their own distinctive style that feels very “them,” but also true to life. In 2022, these styles would be considered “ norm-core” or “dad-core,” but I’m told from my actual dad that at the time, it was just what people wore. Julia Louis-Dreyfus became a comedy icon for playing Elaine Benes on nine seasons of NBC’s Seinfeld, but the role wasn’t completely fulfilling for her when the show first got off the ground. Though each character has a bit of a fashion arch (and upgrade) through the run of the show, there are a ton of trends you see in every season: loose, baggy clothes, lots of collared shirts and practical shoes for walking around Rudy Giuliani’s Manhattan. It aired from 1989 to 1998, so the fashion on “Seinfeld” hits the sweet spot of shoulder pads meets generic, solid cotton crew neck sweatshirt.
